Love possesses not nor will it be possessed, for love is sufficient unto love.
Khalil Gibran

Finally with the help of a dear friend P, got this translated into Malayalam !

I can't seem to find the exact quote anywhere now but I remember it vaguely as this.
"Love is two souls lingering on eachother's solitude and protecting them." -Rilke

Leaning into the afternoons..

Leaning into the afternoons I cast my sad nets
towards your oceanic eyes.
There in the highest blaze my solitude lengthens
and flames,
its arms turning like a drowning man's.
I send out red signals across your absent eyes
that smell like the sea or the beach by a
lighthouse.
You keep only darkness, my distant female,
from your regard sometimes the coast of dread
emerges.
Leaning into the afternoons I fling my sad nets
to that sea that is thrashed by your oceanic
eyes.
The birds of night peck at the first stars
that flash like my soul when I love you.
The night gallops on its shadowy mare
shedding blue tassels over the land.

The final lines of the poem Requiem written by writer Kurt Vonnegut. The poem forms the closing lines of his last book.

REQUIEM

When the last living thing
has died on account of us,
how poetical it would be
if Earth could say,
in a voice floating up
perhaps
from the floor
of the Grand Canyon,
"It is done."
People did not like it here.

Country

Imagine there is no heaven..

It's easy if you try.. goes the song.

Here is the link to author Salman Rushdie's letter "to the six billionth person born on the face of our planet" that appeared in Guardian almost a decade ago..

"Our generation is realistic for we have come to know a man as he really is. After all, man isthat being who has invented the gas chambers of Auschwitz; however, he is also that being who has entered those gas chambers upright, with the Lord's Prayer or the Shema Yisrael on his lips."

The closing lines from the book "Man's search for meaning" by Dr. Victor E. Frankl.
